 JAMB ANNOUNCES MINIMUM ADMISSIBLE SCORE FOR THE 2026 UTME The 2026 Policy Meeting has approved the following minimum admissible scores for admission into tertiary institutions: 📍Universities — 150 ✅ (Note this doesn't mean it is fixed at 150, it implies that no University should fall below this. 📍Colleges of Nursing — 150 ✅ 📍Polytechnics & Monotechnics — 100 ✅ (Except ND Agric and some non-technology courses that do not require UTME) 📍Colleges of Education — UTME is no longer compulsory ✅ Additional Updates: ✅ The minimum age for admission into tertiary institutions for the 2026/2027 academic session is 16 years. ✅ Candidates are advised to stay updated with the latest admission information and guidelines.

Meeting the cut-off only makes you eligible to be considered for admission; it does not guarantee it .  T he Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has ordered the withdrawal of 2026 UTME results for several candidates due to massive examination malpractice and high-tech fraud .  The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the withdrawal of certain 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, with affected candidates expected to participate in a forthcoming mop-up examination.  According to notifications sent to some candidates, the Board stated that the affected UTME results had been withdrawn and that fresh examination schedules would be communicated in due course. The notification reads: > “Your 2026 UTME result has been withdrawn. You will be rescheduled for the mop-up exam. NECO CBT 2026: Everything you need to know about Nigeria’s shift to digital exams

  Starting with the May/June 2026 SSCE, NECO will phase out paper-and-pencil tests in favour of a CBT model to curb malpractice and speed up result processing. To ease the transition, the council will use a hybrid approach, with objective questions answered digitally, while some theory/essay papers may still use traditional booklets during the initial phase.  To address the rural divide, NECO is implementing offline-capable testing software and mapping underserved schools to centralised hubs with mandatory solar or generator backups. The  National Examinations Council (NECO)  is officially retiring the traditional paper-and-pencil format.
