How to apply for Nigerian Air Force 2026 recruitment

  The Nigerian Air Force has commenced its 2026 recruitment exercise for eligible Nigerians seeking enlistment as tradesmen/women and non-tradesmen/women. The recruitment is for the Basic Military Training Course 47/2026, with online registration opening on Thursday, September 3, 2026, and closing on October 14, 2026. The application is free of charge. ALL JAMB 2026 NOVELS PACK, CHAPTER SUMMARY, QUESTION AND ANSWER (PDF)

For JAMB 2026, there is one compulsory novel that every candidate must read for the Use of English section. It is tested regardless of your course of study. The novel is The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba. You should focus on its plot, characters, themes, setting, and key events because many questions will come from it.

JAMB Literature in English has its own separate prescribed texts for candidates offering the subject. These include plays, novels or prose works, and poems. Here is the current list of selected texts based on the 2026 syllabus.

Drama

- African: The Marriage of Anansewa by Efua T. Sutherland

- Non-African: Antony and Cleopatra by William Shakespeare

Prose or Novels

- African: So the Path Does Not Die by Pede Hollist

- African: Redemption Road by Elma Shaw

- Non-African: Path of Lucas: The Journey He Endured by Susanne Bellefeuille

- Some sources also mention To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee as a possible non-African prose option in the updated list.

Poetry

- African poems include: Once Upon a Time by Gabriel Okara, New Tongue by Elizabeth L.A. Kamara, Night by Wole Soyinka, Not My Business by Niyi Osundare, and others like Hearty Garlands by S.O.H. Afriyie-Vidz or The Breast of the Sea by Syl Cheney-Coker.

The old novels like Second Class Citizen, Unexpected Joy at Dawn, or Wuthering Heights are no longer in use for the current cycle. Stick to the new prescribed texts above.

For general preparation in Use of English, read The Lekki Headmaster thoroughly. You can find free summaries or the text itself from reliable JAMB preparation sites or bookstores. Practice questions from past papers and focus on comprehension passages drawn from the novel.
