Job Title: HSE Office 

Location:Lagos, Nigeria

Employment Type: Full Time

Job function: Quality & Safety

Job Role

  1. Responsible for carrying out inspections of workplaces and taking necessary actions to ensure compliance
  2. Developing and implementing relevant HSE policies and procedures 
  3. Assisting in drafting and implementation of an Employee Health and Safety Handbook, Templates for the conduct of Risk Assessments, and any other HSE Guidelines forms for use throughout the Organization
  4. Completing HSE Audits in accordance with the OSH Act and Amendments and the approved Audit Plans
  5. Performing Health & Safety Risk Assessments at an assigned location – both scheduled and unscheduled
  6. Assisting in carrying out industrial hygiene surveys
  7. Conducting risk assessment and developing a HSE gap analysis for Green Africa
  8. Highlighting non-compliance of safety issue(s) with assigned Project Manager / Facility Manager and recording discussions inclusive of recommendations with timelines for management’s information and follow-up action
  9. Producing status reports monthly and undertaking follow-up on recommended remedial actions to ensure compliance
  10. Preparing and issuing HSE information/guidelines to the Head of Department as necessary

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in any field
  • Understanding of HSE fundamentals
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Thorough knowledge of current health and safety best practices and standards
  • Certification in Behavioural Safety Management will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in Health and Safety Management
  • Proficient in computer-based applications used for hazard reporting and risk assessment
  • Have relevant certifications or qualifications regarding the Health and Safety Management System.
